When u pull all those bits off, and put them in a container? send them out for plating.

U can get it done in Zinc, either Gold or Silver.
The gold offers slightly more rust resistance.

Platers are every where, .....have a look in the yellow pages.

How much does plating cost?

I was recently quoted 30c per bolt, here in Adelaide, for gold passivation. They claimed they would wire every item up separately after preparation, rather than put them all together in a basket. the only mob ive spoken to was reluctant to plate items with bonded rubber or components like door locks.

DIY is an option if you're going to be doing lots of bits over a few projects. Initial costs are high, but running costs are low, as well as being able to do a run of items whenever you need them.
