Can someone advise the difference between pumps FP200A vs FP201A (Burton part No's.). I’ve only just noticed on their web site that the FP200A recommends rpm only up to 6250, and to use the FP201A above this. I have emailed Burton's, but have yet to receive a reply.
I’ve been using the FP200A for years (as this was the only high pressure/high volume pump avaialable) and am now wondering if this could be the problem of what appears to be oil shear on thrust side mains. I even went to the trouble of cross drilling my last crank to see if that would assist, but problem remains. All 1700 engines for rally use with accrylite pistons. Big ends appear OK so that suggests fuel /timing is OK. Total of 3 cranks all show the same wear pattern. And I’ve just freshened up an engine for a client, same spec engine as mine, same pump and also shows same damage. These engines are run between 7/7500rpm and sometimes touch 8000rpm.
Or should I be looking at something like the Pace pump or Omnitech?
