how many twin cams left?

just going thru my latest copy of retro ford magazine and was surprised to learn that according to the avo club, there is only 320 surviving examples of the original 2106 twin cams left worldwide.i didnt realise they were that rare.must be a lot of twin cam motors stored away from wrecks in peoples sheds

The story goes that there are less than 50 on the register in the uk. Who knows? So many cars were wrecked, rallied, raced, and bastardised, world wide in the 70's and 80's I doubt there are many original matching number cars around. There were a lot more Lotus twinks produced in the day for uses other than the Escort.

i meant the article said that 2106 twin cam escorts were produced worldwide.

Surely there were more produced than that. There were probably more than that assembled here.

according to classic ford,there were about 800 twin cam escorts made in oz,which is a helluva lot more than any other country.
