Has anybody seen one of these before? I can't find a record of it any of my Australian Ford parts manuals; may have been a UK option only. Any suggestions would be great thanks.

I have seen these before many, many moons ago when Escorts were a bit more plentiful.
There was an Escort 1300 Super that was based on the 1300GT and had a six dial dash with a clock in place of the Tacho.
I saw at least 3 of these many years ago - all were two doors and all had the 1300GT engine with twin choke weber. They looked like and may well have been rebadged 1300GT's. I have also seen a number of SUPER'S that weren't based on the GT and only had a 2 dial dash. From memory when Ford dropped the GT, the Super took over for a few months (probably to get rid of the last body shells) and had a similar model coding to the GT.
At a guess i would say that is a rare dash - even though most people wouldn't appreciate it not having a tacho, but it is definitely a factory (Australia) item.
Cheers, Glenn
Edit -
Below is the list of model numbers which can found in the tech section of this site - the highlight models are GT's ending in 8 (CK48) and in 1972 they became Super Luxury at the same time the Twin Cam became the GT1600.

ford done the same thing with the mk2 cortina 1600gt,as it was nearing the end of its production, they rebadged the gt's as L's to get rid of em and put a clock where the tacho should be. I think from memory that insurance premiums were a deciding factor too for re badging the GT's.

Thanks for the info Glenn about the dash, good to know it is real and what it's of, but as you said probably rare but unwanted.
I saw my first Mk1 GT about a two years ago in an old guys garage complete and intact but had the usual tacho dash. He was a member of the BFCC in Qld.
Cheers again
Darren
